Asimut is a granular synthesizer for iPad, iPhone and Mac - five players, a grain field you can see and play, and ORDEN, which decides when every grain sounds. It runs standalone and as an Audio Unit instrument. This page is the fastest way to reach a person about it.
How do I get help?
Email post@vaagfabrikat.no. Please include your iPad, iPhone or Mac model, your iPadOS, iOS or macOS version, and the Asimut version and build number - they are shown under About Asimut in the app’s menu. Bug reports with steps to reproduce get fixed fastest.
How quickly will I get a reply?
We reply within two working days. If something is broken badly enough to stop you playing, say so in the subject line and it will be looked at first.
What do I need to run Asimut?
An iPad or iPhone with iPadOS or iOS 17 or later, or a Mac with macOS 14 or later. On iPhone, Asimut runs in landscape with its own compact layout. Asimut runs standalone and as an Audio Unit (AUv3) instrument inside a compatible host, listed as "VAAG Fabrikat: Asimut". One purchase covers iPad, iPhone and Mac.
Is there a manual?
Yes - a PDF user manual, linked at the top of this page and at /manual. It covers every screen and every control, and it is generated from the app itself, so it matches the build it is versioned against.
Do I need an account?
No. Asimut has no accounts and no sign-in, and it never connects to the internet. Your presets, scenes, recordings and imported samples live on your device.
Can I use my own sounds?
Yes. Import an audio file of up to three minutes as a source for any player, next to the built-in tonal, recorded and noise sources.
Does Asimut work with MIDI controllers?
Yes - over USB, Bluetooth and from other apps. Notes play the selected players, and MIDI learn maps knobs and faders to Asimut’s controls. Bluetooth is used only for MIDI devices you choose to pair.
How do I save what I make?
Presets and scenes are saved inside the app. To keep a recording, export it as WAV (24-bit or 32-bit float) or AAC, at 48 or 44.1 kHz, through the share sheet - to Files, iCloud Drive or another app. Your device backup also includes everything Asimut stores.
How do I unsubscribe, or have my email deleted?
Every email we send has an unsubscribe link. To have your address removed entirely, or to ask what we hold about you, email post@vaagfabrikat.no and we will act on it promptly.
I found a bug or want to request a feature.
Both are welcome at post@vaagfabrikat.no. Feature requests are read and weighed for what gets built next.
