Accessibility statement
Last updated: 28 October 2026
We want Asimut to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who navigate by keyboard, use a screen reader, or need reduced motion. This statement describes where the website and the app stand today and how to tell us when we fall short.
What we aim for
We target WCAG 2.2 level AA for asimut.app. We test with keyboard navigation, browser zoom, small-screen layouts and reduced-motion settings, and we measure colour contrast rather than eyeballing it.
What works today
Every page has a skip link and a main landmark, headings run in order, and all interactive controls are reachable and operable by keyboard with a visible focus indicator. The sound demo on the front page starts only when you press Play, can be stopped at any time, and its zone buttons are announced as a group of choices. The site respects your operating system’s reduced-motion setting. Text reflows without horizontal scrolling down to 320 pixels wide, and touch targets meet the minimum size on phones.
Known limitations on the website
The grain field in the demo is a picture of the sound: it is described in text, but it carries no information of its own beyond what the zone description says.
The app
Asimut has a permanently dark interface and no flashing content. VoiceOver reads the transport, the players, the inspector and the main controls, and controls that hold a value report it and can be adjusted with the VoiceOver swipe gestures. The grain field itself is a visual, touch-played surface and is not fully navigable with VoiceOver. The app follows Reduce Motion. Dynamic Type is a known limitation: the interface is a fixed instrument layout and does not follow the system text size. Asimut is a real-time instrument, so some gestures depend on timing.
Telling us about a problem
If any part of Asimut or this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, email us and describe what you were trying to do and what got in the way. We treat accessibility defects as bugs, not feature requests.
